Fortune Roulette: Our review of this game

A roulette game with some unique additional features has made Fortune Roulette a modern classic.

Our team here at Lucky7Bonus have dived into the key components that make this live game such a fan favorite among players old and new.

What is the casino game Fortune Roulette?

Yet another installment from the innovators at Pragmatic Play, Fortune Roulette is based on the popular European variation.

This means that the roulette wheel features 37 compartments numbered 0 to 36. Half the numbers are red, and the rest are black. The compartment numbered 0 is a neutral color, usually green.

However, this is pretty much where the similarities end. For one thing, the presence of a live presenter gives the game an exciting TV game show-like aspect.

Although, what really takes this game to another level are its special multipliers and bonus rounds that make everything more engaging and unpredictable.

Players have the chance to land huge multipliers of up to 540x. Plus, as you’ll find out, a special chest feature and Bonus Game can increase your rewards even further.

With the constant possibility of reaching one massive payout with every round, the RTP of this game varies slightly depending on the bet placed but ranges from 95.1% to 97.3%.

Where to play Fortune Roulette?

If you're looking for the best places to experience the thrill of Fortune Roulette, these online casinos have you covered:

As long as you have an account with any of these platforms, you can jump right into the action or watch the game for free as it unfolds.

How does Fortune Roulette work?

So far, we’ve touched upon the game’s key features and how it differs from traditional variations.

Now, let’s break down how it all works in more detail.

Basic Rules

As stated, this game is based on the European version, which also happens to be the most popular worldwide.

On your screen, you’ll find what is called the ‘racetrack’ (bottom left corner). This acts as a visual reference for the sequence on the roulette wheel. You’ll also see the grid layout at the bottom of your screen where you can actually place your bets.

Just as with any roulette game, you can bet on a single number (known as a Straight Up) or cover multiple numbers with a Street, Six Line or even a Split bet. These are known as inside bets as they take place within the numbered grid.

Alternatively, you can bet on broader outcomes, such as on the color of the winning number and whether it will be odd or even.

These are either called outside bets or call bets, offering higher chances of winning but with lower payouts.

Bet Types

Below, we’ve compiled a detailed breakdown of all the bet types along with what they mean.

Inside BetsInside Bets DefinitionOutside BetsOutside Bets Definition
Straight UpSingle NumberRed/BlackIf winning number is black or red
SplitTwo Adjacent NumbersOdd/EvenIf winning number is odd or even
StreetThree Numbers in a RowHigh/LowIf winning number is low (1-18) or high (19 - 36)

Six LineSix Numbers Across Two RowsColumnsThree vertical columns on roulette grid covering 12 numbers each

Aside from this, there are also other special bets you can make, known as call bets:

  • Tiers (Tiered): A split bet covering 12 numbers with six chips (bets)

  • Voisins: Uses nine chips (bets) to cover 17 numbers (including zero)

  • Orphelins (Orphan): A 5-chip bet covering the remaining numbers not mentioned in Voisin and Tiered bets

  • O Game: Uses four chips to cover the numbers closest to zero on the roulette wheel

Note: Payouts for inside bets are reduced to accommodate for the multipliers and other features.

Fortune Multipliers

The addition of fixed multipliers adds an exciting layer of unpredictability to every round.

While games like Lightning Roulette also include multipliers, Fortune Roulette introduces a unique briefcase system that sets itself apart.

Once bets are placed and the wheel spins, some or all of the briefcases may open, each revealing a randomly selected number from the roulette wheel. Beneath these numbers are multipliers that can significantly boost potential winnings.

If the ball lands on one of your bets that also carries a multiplier, then your payout is multiplied accordingly. The highest Fortune Multiplier can reach up to 540x on a Straight Up bet.

Since there is no way of telling how many briefcases will open, or which multipliers will appear, every spin is filled with an air of excitement and anticipation that heightens the overall gaming experience.

Note: Bear in mind that multipliers can only be won on inside bets, not outside bets.

Chest (Multiplier Accumulator)

The chest feature is a game changer, capable of turning a good session into a great one! This is because it functions as an accumulator.

If the chest opens revealing your chosen number, all active multipliers are combined into one massive payout opportunity.

So, let’s say there’s a round where two briefcases open, one with a multiplier of 48x and another with 120x. If the chest opens during that round and it happens to be your number, then the multipliers are combined for a total of 168x your total bet.

The maximum multiplier can reach up to 3,240x on Straight Up bets whereas for other inside bets, this is halved to 1,620x.

The chest feature adds a thrilling dynamic to the game that will surely leave you on the edge of your seat.

Bonus Game

The bonus round is a fantastic addition to the game. Seamlessly blending roulette gameplay with a slot-styled mini-game may seem unusual at first.

However, it's what makes Fortune Roulette a cut above the rest! Here's how it works.

If the ball happens to land on your number with a bonus symbol attached, the bonus round is triggered.

This transports you (virtually) to a new set featuring a giant slot machine with a grid layout of 5x3

Kicking off with five free spins, if a chest symbol appears alongside multipliers once the reels stop spinning, then the multipliers are added to your winnings

With luck on your side, you can potentially unlock more free spins and get promoted to level 2, where all multipliers are doubled for even greater rewards. There are 3 levels in total.

With a maximum multiplier of up to 9,000x, the Bonus Game has the potential to offer an even greater payout than the chest feature.

Can Fortune Roulette be played on mobile?

Our team at Lucky7Bonus were pleased to see that Fortune Roulette is fully optimized for mobile devices, working well with both Android and iOS.

All core features remain present, and the live presenter is also still visible, ensuring an immersive experience even on smaller screens.

We also thought navigation was pretty streamlined, with pop-up overlays making everything more intuitive and touch-friendly.

As such, everything has been adjusted to fit within the confines of a small screen. The graphics also remain crisp, maintaining the same high-quality visuals.

Overall, we had no complaints. Performance remained smooth, with easily accessible game functions that made it just as enjoyable, if not more, as on a larger screen.

What are the best alternatives to Fortune Roulette?

If you enjoy roulette games with interesting features and interactive mechanics, then here’s a list of titles that share similarities with Fortune Roulette that you might enjoy.

Lightning Roulette

As the name suggests, Lightning Roulette offers a fast-paced and electrifying roulette experience.

Produced by Evolution Gaming, this roulette game also features multipliers that are revealed via a lightning strike animation behind the presenter. Up to 5 multipliers can be revealed in each round, ranging from 50x to 500x.

However – unlike Fortune Roulette where all inside bets qualify for multipliers – in Lightning Roulette, only Straight Up bets are eligible. Aside from this, this variant has no bonus round to speak of.

So, although the multipliers aren’t as high, if you’re looking for a more straightforward gaming experience, then this is for you.

  • Provider: Evolution Gaming

  • Min Bet: €0.20

  • Max Bet: €50,000

  • Max Multiplier: 500x

  • RTP: 97.3% (97.1% for Straight Up bets)

  • Features: Up to 5 multipliers per round

Power Up Roulette

Produced by Pragmatic Play, Power Up Roulette has a unique way of making everyone feel more included.

After bets are placed and as the wheel spins, 3, 4 or 5 numbers are randomly selected from a grid behind the live presenter. These are called Power Ups and if the balls lands on one of these, a bonus spin is triggered.

This is where the game excels as all numbers on the grid are assigned multipliers ranging from as low as 25x to as high as 500x.

So, unlike other games where players rely on landing a pre-assigned multiplier, Power Up Roulette introduces this shared aspect. If one player lands a Power Up number, it unlocks multipliers for all Straight Up bets in the next round.

However, its strength can also be a downside. This is because multipliers are only triggered when the ball lands on a Power Up number. So, you might be waiting for a long while before this feature comes into play.

  • Provider: Pragmatic Play

  • Min Bet: €0.01

  • Max Bet: €5,000

  • Max Multiplier: 500x

  • RTP: 97.3% (97.1% for Straight Up bets)

  • Features: Bonus spin assigns whole grid random multipliers

Mega Roulette

As with any roulette game, the aim is always the same: to guess where the ball will land. Produced by Pragmatic Play in 2021, Mega Roulette heightens this experience by assigning multipliers to randomly selected numbers.

Up to five numbers can be selected in each round with multipliers ranging from a minimum of 50x to a maximum of 500x. This is somewhat lower than Fortune Roulette if you exclude the bonus round.

Speaking of bonus rounds, Mega Roulette does not feature any, instead focusing solely on multiplier mechanics.

Ultimately, it is a far more stripped-down version of Fortune Roulette or even Power Up Roulette.

It’s also not as fast-paced as Lightning Roulette, although some players might prefer it this way for its simplicity.

  • Provider: Pragmatic Play

  • Min Bet: €0.01

  • Max Bet: €10,000

  • Max Multiplier: 500x

  • RTP: 97.3% (97.5% for Straight Up bets)

  • Features: Up to 5 multipliers per round

What is Fortune Roulette really worth? Our opinion

Fortune Roulette is by far one of the most entertaining roulette games we’ve tried here at Lucky7Bonus. We had a blast playing it!

With exciting bonus rounds and other special features, there’s a lot happening to keep players interested and engaged for longer.

As previously mentioned, having multipliers with live roulette games is nothing new and something we’ve grown to expect. However, many variations only include multipliers with Straight Up bets.

Where this game excels is that all inside bets are eligible for multipliers. This immediately makes Fortune Roulette more appealing to players, offering a wider selection of betting strategies that qualify for its features.

The game also offers great payout potential too, with a single multiplier capable of reaching 540x. Add this to the Bonus Game – with a potential payout of 9,000x – and the stakes are even higher.

The addition of a chest accumulator is another stroke of genius by the guys at Pragmatic Play.

In fact, with so much on offer, our team was hard-pressed to find anything negative to say about the game. However, there is always room for improvement.

To balance the presence of multipliers, payouts for standard inside bets are slightly lower than traditional European Roulette.

Plus, players cannot track short-term performance stats on inside bets. It’s definitely not a dealbreaker but some may find this frustrating.

Overall, with its mix of classic roulette mechanics, interactive gameplay, and thrilling bonus elements, Fortune Roulette offers something utterly unique and engaging for all to enjoy.
