Kcorp in the quarter finals of the EU Masters!

They were only supposed to be national underdogs, but now they are favorites for the European title! The Kcorp can legitimately dream of winning the EU Masters following their exceptional performance in the group stages of the biggest continental competition concerning the famous video game League of Legends.

After winning the LFL (French championship League of Legends) last month to qualify for the EU Masters, Kcorp has confirmed its status as a rising star in the Esport world by qualifying for the quarter-finals of this competition in which the best teams in Europe compete. The franchise led by Kameto and Prime can now legitimately raise their sights and hope to win the highest continental honor on the professional League of Legends circuit.

Lucky7Bonus takes a look back at Kcorp's exceptional run in the group stage of the EU Masters League of Legends, becoming the first team to achieve so many wins in a major competition so quickly.

What is Kcorp?

Kcorp, also known as Karmine Corp, is an Esport team with many talented players who represent their team in professional competitions. This structure is owned by Kamel Kebir and Amine Mekri, better known under the pseudonyms "Kameto" and "Prime". The latter joined the adventure at the end of 2020 and has helped accelerate the development of the structure initially called Kameto Corp.

As for League of Legends, the team is composed of some of the best players on the planet. These LOL stalwarts include:

  • Adam "Adam" Maanane

  • Lucas "Saken" Fayard

  • Raphaël "Targamas" Crabbé

  • Jakub "Cinkrof" Rokicki

  • Matthew Charles "xMatty" Coombs

What are the European Masters?

The EU Masters brings together the 16 best teams in Europe for the video game League of Legends. This competition takes place from 29 March to 2 May. In order to participate in this event, which started in 2018 and takes place twice a year, in Spring and Summer, the franchises must finish at the top of their national championships. A total of 12 teams advance directly to the group stages, while four teams must secure their ticket through a play-off (known as a play-in).

The format of the EU Masters is directly inspired by the iconic Champions League football competition. The 16 teams are divided into four pools of four, in which each team plays the other three franchises in a two-legged format. The top two teams in each group qualify for the quarter-finals, where the top team from each group plays the second team from another group.

This is followed by knockout matches until the final between the winners of the two semi-finals to decide who will be crowned League of Legends European Champion.

Teams participating in the EU Masters

The tickets for the European Masters are awarded to the highest ranked teams in the regular season of the League of Legends major nations. Depending on the level of each country, one or two teams qualify directly.

France, Spain, Poland and the league of Germany, Switzerland and Austria will have 2 teams directly qualify for the Main Event.

Italy, Greece and Cyprus, the United Kingdom and the Nordic countries as well as the Balkans will have only one participant directly qualified.

The final 4 tickets are awarded after a play-off between the second and third place teams in the above leagues.

At the EU Masters in Spring 2021, the participants are:

🇩🇪 🇦🇹 🇨🇭 BIG Berlin International Gaming, mousesports, Schalke 04 Evolution

🇪🇸 UCAM Esports Club, Cream Real Betis, G2 Artic

🇫🇷 Karmine Corp, Misfits Premier

🇵🇱 AGO Rogue, K1CK Neosurf, Illuminar Gaming

🇮🇪 🇬🇧 🇮🇸 🇩🇰 🇫🇮 🇸🇪 🇳🇴 BT Excel

🇮🇹 Macko Esports Mkers

🇦🇱 🇧🇦 🇭🇺 🇭🇷 🇷🇸 🇸🇰 🇧🇬

🇬🇷 🇨🇾 Anorthosis Famagusta Esports

Kcorp's clean sweep in the group stages

The first experience at the highest continental level started in the best way for Kcorp. Having inherited a supposedly complicated group, with BT Excel, FC Schalke 04 Evolution and Cream Real Betis, the Karmine Corp knocked out their opponents by winning all their matches! Some matches even turned into a demonstration, as the match against Schalke 04 ended in only 17 minutes and 1 second, which is a competition record!

As a result, Kameto and Prime's franchise finished first in their group with a score of 6-0, which allowed them to face an opponent who finished second in their group.

Thanks to this feat, Kcorp is now one of the favorites of these European Masters and can now legitimately hope to win this competition, just like Misfits Premier, another French-speaking representative who also obtained its ticket for the quarterfinals.

The EU Masters quarter finals

Once the group stages are over, all the qualified teams can now turn their attention to the most exciting matches of the EU Masters: the knockout rounds. The first quarter-finals will take place on Tuesday, and will be played in two sets, which could allow the Kcorp to reach the semi-finals of a major tournament for the first time in its history. They will face the Serbian team SuppUp eSports, who lost heavily in the group stage to Misfits Premier.

The Karmine Corp will be able to count on the exceptional support of thousands of fans on social networks, nicknamed "ultras", who will be present to support their favorite team. The Kcorp's history is already magnificent, now it can become legendary.

Tuesday 27 April:

4.30pm: 🇪🇸 UCAM Esports - Mkers 🇮🇹

7:30pm: 🇫🇷 Karmine Corp - SuppUp Esports 🇷🇸 Wednesday, April 28

4.30pm: 🇫🇷 Misfits Premier - BT Excel 🇬🇧
